The Cook Government announced in January 2024 that it will provide free public transport to the entire community every Sunday, a further cost-of-living relief measure. 

The announcement follows the success of the Summer of Free Public Transport, which began on 24 December 2023.

This announcement of free travel every Sunday builds on the Cook Government's existing scheme, which is currently providing free travel on the first Sunday of every month!
