I’m Kim Giddens, and if you live in the electorate of Bateman, I’m your representative in State Parliament.

I want the very best for our community.  It’s where I live with my husband and where I’m raising our young family.  Our children go to local schools, and we are members of our local sports and community clubs.

Our community is what connects us to each other -and what makes the electorate of Bateman one of the best places in the world to call home.

From our parks, rivers, roads or community infrastructure, I want to build on our strengths and contribute to making our community even better! 

That's why, since I was elected in 2021, I have worked hard to deliver funding and improvements to more than 100 projects across our community - like STEM funding to every public primary school and upgrades to Applecross, Melville and Rossmoyne Senior High Schools.

It’s also been my priority to support our local sports and community groups; from the redevelopment of Len Shearer Reserve (coming soon!), to resurfacing netball courts at Kardinya and Brentwood.  Lighting upgrades for tennis, soccer and hockey, to investment in growing women and girls sport, to supporting our local bowls clubs. Across the community there has been improvements to many of our sports and community clubs. 

In parliament, I have been Acting Speaker, and contributed to the ‘Enough Is Enough; Sexual harassment against women in the FIFO mining industry’ report handed down by the Community Development and Justice Standing Committee.  I am currently a member of the Public Accounts Committee. 

I am proud of what we have achieved, but there is more to do!  With your support, I look forward to continuing to deliver for Bateman.

• I am a parent to 5 boys!!
• I have driven trucks in WA’s mines!
• I have lived, worked or studied in Australia, England, France and Cambodia, and the only states I haven't lived in are Qld and Victoria. 
• I have worked in children’s rights in Cambodia, youth services and local government in the East Kimberly, and as a teacher in some of Australia’s most disadvantaged communities.
• I can’t sing or dance, but I do love gardening, and increasingly, bird watching.  You can draw your own conclusions….
