$1.2 Million Election Commitment to Transform Netball in Bateman
- $900,000 for brand-new clubroom facilities at Morris Buzacott Reserve
- $300,000 to upgrade to LED lighting at Brentwood Primary School
A re-elected Cook Labor Government will invest $1.2 million in the Bateman Community Netball Infrastructure Program, delivering significant upgrades and new facilities to support the vibrant local netball community.
The funding provides Kardinya Netball Club with its first-ever permanent and purpose-built home. This long-overdue investment will equip the club with modern amenities, creating a welcoming hub for players, families, and the wider community.
The lighting upgrades at Brentwood Primary School will enhance safety and visibility for Tingara Netball Club’s training sessions. These upgrades will ensure the club can train under modern, to-code lighting while also reducing energy costs and environmental impact.
This commitment builds on the proven track record of the Member for Bateman, Kim Giddens MLA, and the Cook Government in delivering for grassroots netball, including:
- $80,000 to upgrade the netball courts at Morris Buzacott Reserve, Kardinya.
- $100,000 to resurface courts at Brentwood Primary School, used by Tingara Netball Club juniors for training.
These initiatives demonstrate the continued commitment of a re-elected Cook Labor Government to grassroots sport in Bateman and, in particular, to supporting netball as the most popular sport for women and girls in Western Australia.
