Our transformational METRONET program continues to see record investment, as well as other key investments in transport in this Budget, including:
- $4.8 billion in METRONET funding - which will continue to transform Perth's suburban public transport system.
- An additional $10 million to expand school zone speed limits to all warden-controlled crossings - helping keep our kids safe. The following Bateman schools and streets will benefit from this investment:
-
- Ardross Primary School and Applecross Senior High School will see the Riseley Street speed reduced;
- St Benedict's School will have the speed on Bombard Street reduced;
- Booragoon Primary School will have the speed reduced on both Marmion Street and Norma Road; and
- Kardinya Primary School will see reduced speeds at two crossing locations on North Lake Road, near Le Souef Drive and South Street, near Pinewood Avenue.
- Completing the WA Railcar Program, with 246 new passenger railcards being locally built and manufactured right here in WA.
- Our METRONET program includes the construction of the Canning Bridge Bus Interchange.
