The Cook Labor Government is continuing to invest in the health of our local environment, with the Swan Estuary Reserves Action Group (SERAG) awarded $82,630 through the latest Community Rivercare Grants program.

The funding will support the restoration and care of the Alfred Cove A-Class Nature Reserve and the foreshore of the Alfred Cove Marine Park, including the regeneration of saltmarsh and Vasse foreshore vegetation through revegetation and targeted weed control.

SERAG is a dedicated local volunteer organisation that has spent years protecting and restoring the Swan River estuary. Their volunteers work tirelessly to rehabilitate foreshore habitat, improve biodiversity and help preserve these special natural areas for future generations.

This investment will support SERAG’s important on-ground conservation work and help protect one of our community’s most valued natural assets.

The commitment of SERAG’s volunteers makes a real difference in caring for the Alfred Cove foreshore and ensuring this unique environment can be enjoyed for generations to come.
