$12 million has been allocated in the State budget to assist Surf Life Saving WA provide shark mitigation services until 2024/2025. This funding will go towards providing comprehensive beach and aerial pilots, integrated communication systems and a jet-ski response team.

The technology to identify shark threats is only getting better. New additional shark detection receivers have been put in place from Sorrento to Ocean Reef. Detection information is provided directly to the SharkSmart WA app, Surf Life Saving WA and the SharkSmart website.
