Just announced - a re-elected Cook Labor Government will create a new Bushfire Mitigation Branch.

These dedicated new fire management staff will reduce bushfire risk across WA and help keep vulnerable communities safe during bushfire season.

It's about stopping fires before they happen - and supporting our firefighters on the front line.

As WA's bushfire season gets longer and harsher, prevention is becoming even more important for our communities.

That's why, we will introduce the new State Bushfire Mitigation Branch to undertake mitigation activities on unallocated Crown land, unmanaged reserves and other land that is not the responsibility of private landowners or other agencies.

Plus, they will help local governments to manage the risk on road verges and provide support during major bushfire incidents.

This builds on WA Labor's strong track record of supporting WA's emergency services to keep you and your family safe.

We've funded an additional 60 career firefighters, the biggest expansion in more than 50 years, plus an additional investment in state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.
