The Cook Labor Government is making it easier for kids to get to school safely.
We are delivering a grant to Applecross Primary School – giving the Bateman electorate kids a safer and smoother journey to the classroom.
This new funding will go towards things like upgraded bike and scooter parking, installation of bike repair stations, bike tracks and road safety programs.
The Cook Labor Government is committed to making active travel more accessible.
This is being made possible through significant investment in walking and riding infrastructure, as well as more than $1 million invested as part of the Connecting Schools Grants program since 2018.
This year’s grants will ensure schools can improve active transport
infrastructure to encourage families to use the trip to school as another opportunity to get out and about.
By rolling out the Connecting Schools Grants program, this government is supporting more students than ever before to develop good travel habits that will set them up well for a healthy future.
