Getting an ADHD diagnosis can take years and cost families thousands of dollars.

A re-elected Cook Labor Government will change that.

Our commitment will save WA families thousands of dollars and slash wait times.

We’ll support GPs to diagnose and treat ADHD in children and adults – breaking down barriers to treatment for WA families.

Under our changes, GPs will be able to undertake training to expand their scope of practice, so they can diagnose, treat and prescribe medication for ADHD.

This means WA families will no longer require a specialist psychiatrist or paediatrician to diagnose and treat ADHD.

Our changes will ensure families can get the help they need in a timely way, without excessive costs and appointments.

We’ll commit $1.2 million to ADHDWA for vital support, information, and wraparound services for children and adolescents with ADHD, as well as their parents and carers
