The heart of the Applecross community is the Applecross Village and the local businesses that power this vibrant cappuccino strip!
That’s why Roger Cook and I will deliver $95,000 to improve pedestrian safety and support local business:
✅ installing bollards at the roundabout intersection of Kintail Road & Ardross Street
✅ improving pedestrian safety with new line markings outside Gucce restaurant
This commitment stems in part from a terrible accident where a local child was hit by a car while their family were enjoying alfresco dining in one of the local cafes/restaurants. This resulted in a broken leg, and so lucky to not be worse!
I advocated to the City of Melville at the time to address this safety issue but it was not on their project list.
I also listen to our local businesses, especially those near the roundabout, who have been requesting bollard upgrades for years.
I live, work and am raising my family in our community - it is because I know it so well, that I can respond to the needs of our community, when like in this example, other avenues have failed.
Investing in our local infrastructure ensures that we all can enjoy the beautiful Applecross Village and continue to support our local businesses to thrive!
Only a Cook Labor Government will do what’s right for our local economies and our local community.
Thank you to local businesses that power this beautiful part of Bateman.
